Motorcycle training in America is missing something. Riders are still getting killed or seriously hurt on our nation’s highways. The problem lies in how riders are trained and prepared to meet the challenges of riding.
Countersteer Motorcycle Training School is a new riding school in the process of bringing advanced motorcycle training from concept to reality. We are taking baby steps along the way to make sure the training will meet the demands of riders. We don’t use simulations or time on a race track. We won’t teach you to maneuver your bike at parking lot speeds. We will provided hands-on, high-speed, real-world training in a totally controlled environment. The training will have a lasting impact on you, reduce your potential for injury, and save lives.
Because so many motorcyclists get injured or killed, there is a huge effort being put into training and endorsing motorcycle riders in our country. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s programs are highly standardized and effective at teaching low-speed handling and braking. The schools that provide the instruction are excellent. But the speeds and conditions riders deal with in the real world can’t be simulated by setting up cones in a parking lot. Our plan is to add another layer to our motorcycle training programs in America.
Our goal is to boost rider confidence through direct, positive instruction on a closed course at speeds relevant to the real world. For now, the course is designed around street riders. Later we will explore using the training methods and techniques for off-road and adventure motorcyclists.
We think we have a great idea and have developed a solid training plan and road course that will help motorcyclists learn to control their bikes better. Problem is, the start-up costs are high and we need your help.
So we invite you to spend some time on our site and get a feel for what we’re up to. At some point any feed back you could offer would be most helpful.
